How To Upload Photos To Facebook & Instagram In HIGH RESOLUTION Using Adobe Photoshop
In this video Miguel Quiles discusses his process for uploading his photos in high resolution to Facebook! If you’re tired of your photos looking bad anytime you upload to Facebook you’ll definitely want to follow these EASY steps!

Thank you for taking the time to produce and upload this information.
Are the re-sizing values still current for September, 2018?
why u talk so muchhhh… go straight to the point OMG i couldnt complete the vid !!! uhhh
Thanks Man,i will try it
Fantastic tutorial Miguel! Very thorough, easy to follow and well done! Most appreciated and now a subscriber! Take care, Rick
How does if affect people stealing your photos on Facebook if u are making then high-quality can't they be stolen i thought change resolution to maybe 72
Only photographers realize the frustration of spending a thousand bucks to buy a high res camera, a hundred more or so for a good editor for the best possible images, only to have your girlfriend take your shots of her and run them through some cheesy "art" editor that was probably just meant for phone pictures before she posts them! 😂
You didn’t say anything about how to upload to Instagram.
what about instagram
If you upload to instagram did colour of your photos using your phone looks the same as on pc or no
I hate to admit this, but my smaller images are all a little bit soft compared to the original. :/
I followed your instructions to the letter. The results were not REAL bad, but definitely noticeable, I'm afraid.
I only have photoshop elements 11 but will try out some of your tips if I can figure out the work-around. My Instagram photos look great in PSE11 but when uploaded to IG, they look horrible! with some crazy colors… hope I can get this to work. TFS!
Sorry, I don't understand why you select PNG Instead of jpeg to upload , what is difference , thanks in advance.
Ummm, where have you all life? You just saved me!
I don't have the "Export as" option! And even the shortcut doesn't work… HELP PLEASE!
You are the best man I'm definitely subscribing it works
Sir i have tried everything from resizing to sRGB format to jpeg but always my photo get compressed but your video is so much helpful i am now uploading so much quality photos on fb and insta thanx you so much sir
thank you but… Instagram? You can't upload on Instagram from a computer – so should I export PNG onto my computer, then move them onto my phone, then upload to instagram? Sounds cumbersome… 🙁 Great work though!
Great tips Miguel! Thanks so much! would you sharpen before or after the resize? Big thumb up from Italy!
hi Miguel Quiles. I tried one pic which was taken in highn resolution but saved as JPEG. I did the export as PNG. But when I uploaded it on FB, only part of the pic shown and I had to click on it to get the whole pic….need you advise pls
Send the link for mobile app
how about working in psd to begin with?
finaly a good way to upload great quality, thank mate!
Some tutorials suggest changing the higher number to 2048 (instead of changing the width to 960 if it is a portrait). Essentially, this is doing the same thing! Do you know if there's a difference / what works better?
Miguel…another great video!
This was very helpful, Thank You.
Awesome thanks!!!
another excellent video, Miguel. Thanks!
useless!!!!
So how are we digital artist in mobile? we are blurring the skin to make it smoother even I max the canvass of the photo my quality still shit, how was that?
Nope it did not work
👍👍👍 I always give the clients the pictures in three formats TIFF for printing, full res jpegs and web optimised jpegs.
I use a different technique to optimise for the web, and comparing your Instagram vs mine the results are similar ( I don’t really use FB ) for Instagram I tend to use a 4×5 ratio in portrait 1080 x1350 , Instagram max allowed, alternatives are 1080×1080 for square and 1080x864ish in landscapes, where my method is different is that I first reduce the picture resolution to 120dpi then input 1080 pixels for the width, This in Photoshop with bicubic smooth for reducing ( or something that sounds similar I am on the tablet and can’t check) The reason for the 120dpi is to accomodate for professional screens that tends to have better than the usual 72dpi, generally 100-120, and finally export for web in photoshop at 100% quality in sRGB, the files are around 1Mb…
Too much trash talk
What if the photo is square? Like 1080×1080
No, Miguel, this is not the issue. Wherever I go in the Internet I hear or read the same useless tips and speech: "This is how to make your pictures of poorer quality before Facebook does it on its own"! What I need is to preserve the same file size and the same dimensions of my original pictures when uploaded to FB. Meaning: if I upload a picture that is 2048 x 1536 px and that weighs 2 MB, I want Facebook to keep it that big (dimensions) and that heavy (size). Of course, those dimensions won't be visible as displayed on the Timeline page, but if I or anyone else wants to download my original photo from Facebook, I want them to get it in its original size and dimensions, without any reduction. Beside the downloading fact, also viewing the compressed photo display when you click on the image and open it is so much more gratifying when it has been preserved in its whole original potential. I have so far 5 pictures in my FB. The first three I uploaded were kept wholesome and intact in their original sizes and dimensions as I realized when I downloaded them from my FB to make sure. The fourth and fifth ones have been downsized. Why? This is what I don't get. Thanks if you have an answer.
Thank U very much…..I can't believe this….

How do you batch process a bunch of images at once using this method?
Hi Miguel, I went through the steps. By your video, it seems like PNG should be a smaller file size than JPG (you mention "rather than sending a client a full resolution JPG… send it as PNG instead…"). However, when I export the same exact image it's in my case 16MB for the JPG and about 3x that – 51MB – for the PNG. Any thoughts on that? I'm also thinking about how to optimize photos for my website to decrease load-times. https://click.nilsdecker.com/7stdtVdgp1
Thank You!
is this applicaple to mobile phones?
